Follow the steps
0:00 · Start with a ready template
- Choose Consultancy, SaaS or Manufacturing on the landing. This film follows one pre-filled SaaS example throughout; its data is synthetic, not a real company budget.
- Open Templates, then Marketing. Its inputs, calculation rules and P&L connection are already structured. You do not need to build an empty grid first.
0:14 · Enter numbers and formulas
- Double-click January Paid media (A1), type 12000 and press Enter. Marketing investment becomes 17,000: 12,000 paid media plus 5,000 content and agency.
- Select February Paid media (B1), type =A1*1.1 and press Enter. The cell calculates 13,200. February Marketing investment becomes 18,200. The remaining months keep their existing values.
0:32 · Follow the same budget into the P&L
- Open P&L at the top of the sidebar. Operating expenses now show 77,000 in January and 78,200 in February, including the changes in Marketing. This is a working preview, not a published approved statement.
- Right-click Operating expenses and choose View trend. The popup identifies the scenario, GBP currency, period and dimension scope. Scroll inside it to inspect the month-by-month chart. Actuals remain empty until separately imported.
0:52 · Explore the other area templates
- Revenue & retention has subscription-plan and customer-segment dimensions. Choose a detailed member in each relevant filter before editing dimensional inputs. Consolidated views are for reading.
- People connects headcount, salary, taxes and benefits. Operations & G&A groups delivery costs and overhead. These are areas in the same model, not unrelated examples.
1:08 · Adapt the model after the first result
- Return to Marketing and open Configure template. Rows can be entered or calculated, with a destination in the P&L when appropriate. Click the formula to read its full rule; Leads generated uses iferror(paid_media / cost_per_lead; 0).
- Go back to Model structure, then Dimensions. Adapt the existing subscription plans and customer segments instead of rebuilding them. Template-line options define which dimensions a line uses; People & access separately controls who can work on each scope.
- The public example resets on reload. To keep a real budget, sign in and create your own model from the chosen template. Your new model starts without the demo’s fictional values. Choose English, Portuguese or Off below the player to control subtitles.
